Body Temperature
Your natural enviroment will impact your body temperature which is indicated by the small round globe.
This is located near your XP Level.
When you are cooling down you will see a blue arrow moving dowards.
When you are heating up you will see an orange arrow moving upwards.
When your body temp icon changes to a Snowflake or Fire - This means your body temp is dangerously cold or hot! Try to find somewhere safe that is either warmer or colder than you are currently!
Body Temperature is affected by
- The Time of Day
- The Season - Winter and Summer being the harshest
- Blocks nearby - Some blocks are hot!
- Being outside or indoors - having a roof or insulated space helps
- Being Dry or Wet - Splashing yourself in water cools you heavily!
The Sewing Table allows armor insulators to be applied.
These can make or break your survival chances!
- Cooling Coat - Heat Resistance
- Warming Coat - Cold Resistance
- Thermal Coat - Thermal Resistance (Resists both hot/cold)
General Advice
- Certain foods and Drink will raise/lower your body temp
- Certain armors help you massively resist temperatures. Check out Snow and Desert armors!
- Certain blocks like magma blocks can be easily found earlygame in ravines or yellowstone biomes, and can be spammed around you to heat up if you are freezing to death.
- The height of the world matters a lot! Being at Y70 or Y160 can easily make a world of a difference!
- Space, and by proxy most planets, is very hot and cold. You'll need to use Nanosuit, Quarktech, or Sanguine Warptech Armor to survive!
- Being in the rain is in most cases lethal in the cold seasons, as it drops your body temp by a whole 15C!
